Mr. Web's Notes
Well, well, well. It's taken three solid months of hard work,
but the redesign is finally complete. Look for news updates
and reviews and interviews to begin popping up with regularity
this week and next.
We invite you to browse around and
tell us what you think of the site and the new look and
content. Please give us some suggestions and constructive
criticism. We need it and we move forward.
Playboy TV gets hard:
I've been watching a ton of satellite TV lately since I've
gotten the new DirecTV hookup. I must say it smashes my
Comcast cable in picture quality, price and programming. And,
er, adult programming. I've been enjoying Playboy TV lately --
though I miss
Flower, who is one of the sexiest women I've ever seen on
TV.
It's nice to see the Hugh Hefner Network now
beginning to show a little hardcore for a change, especially
since other networks, including some now owned by the Bunny,
are showing hardcore and cumshots. Every Saturday night,
Playboy shows its Director's Cut series, which shows
uncensored films, minus anal and cumshots. But Playboy also
shows its cool Naughty Amateur Home Video series, which shows
Ma and Pa America getting it on everywhere from Wisconsin to
Wichita, in hardcore form. You see everything but the cumshots.
Since Naughty airs all throughout the day, I'm hoping this is
a true first step to a harder core Playboy. If not, the
Director's Cut time limitations (Saturday at 11 EST; Friday at
11 EST) doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
What Playboy should do is take its top show, Night Calls, a
live call in show, and make it harder core. Let's allow
penetration and live masturbation to be seen. I'm dying to see
Tera Patrick and
Crystal Knight get it on. And since I'm talking about
Playboy, I'd like to see
Taylor Hayes join
Juli Ashton on their edition of Night Calls. Taylor has
that natural sexiness that would take the show to another
level. A few other suggestions: how about a show on lap
dancing, and I think a special Night Calls edition featuring
ethnic stars would be awesome. Let Crystal host with Tera and
Steph Swift and invite guests like
Chocolate and
Janet Jacme and
Siren and
Kira Kenner.
That would be a great night to do the lapdance topic, which
many readers have lately been emailing me about. And I think
Playboy needs to pay attention to its burgeoning ethnic
audience, something that probably started on Night Calls 911,
the spinoff of the Ashton-led Night Calls that Tera Patrick
now co-hosts with Knight.

Satellite Porn Doesn't Get Job Done
In the past few weeks, I've spent too much money buying porn off of
DirecTV, which long ago replaced my Comcast cable. Anyway, I can
thoroughly say that, at least until Video on Demand becomes
commonplace, the best way to get your smut is still via mail-order
companies like
Gamelink,
Adam and Eve,
DVD Explorer or
Adult Empire.
If not one of those, an internet video on demand service, like the
one we have here on the site, is the next best thing (so long as you
have a good and fast internet connection).
Porn via satellite is OK, but the same movies are looped for
about a month and the editing is horrible. It's true that some of
them are now showing pop shots and even more amateur and ethnic
films than before, but most scenes are stretched by looping the same
camera angles over and over, and forget about trying to "watch" the
film. You can't follow the plot lines because of the editing.
Plus, when you want to see Tera Patrick go one-on-one, well, you
just can't do it on TV. So go find your DVD player and have fun.
