Braun named GM of Elegant Angel

Patrick Collins, owner of Elegant Angel Productions, has just announced that Axel Braun will be acting as the new General Manager of the company.

Collins, who for several years had been focusing mainly on directing and pursuing his musical interests, came back full-time to the company in June of 2002 and took over the daily operations because he felt the company needed a more hands-on approach.

Though being pleased with the results of his hard work, Collins feels that he needs to work more closely with the productions while Braun helms the organizational and managerial aspects of the operation for the true potential for the company to be realized. During the past several months, Collins had been searching for someone that was adept in productivity and communication. He found that person in Braun, and has chosen him because of his ability to motivate employees as well as having excellent organizational skills.

From Collins... "I feel we currently have the best stable of directors in our company's history. To fully realize our potential in this area we need an individual that understands all aspects of production, and can work directly with me on a daily basis. I have great confidence that Axel is the right choice. In the six months he spent here as an exclusive contract director he has proven to me his integrity, reliability, and loyalty. He has a tremendous amount of management experience, having operated his own production business for the past several years, as well as
invaluable experience in all areas of the adult industry, where he was literally born. He is organized, dependable, driven, and has a great eye for detail. I couldn't have made a better choice."

Collins will continue being hands-on in his company, but this new system will help to better direct the focus of Elegant Angel to position it for long-term growth while at the same time allowing him to do more of his own productions.

Axel Braun is the son of legendary pornographer Lasse Braun. Growing up in this environment sparked an interest in the adult entertainment world, as well as an interest in human nature.  Axel grew up in Italy, where he majored in psychology in college, then, in the late 80's moved to Hollywood to attend film school. Working with his father as an assistant director, writer, producer, cameraman, and editor, Axel gained knowledge in every aspect of the
business.

In 1995 Axel founded his own independent production company: "Axel Braun Productions". His first movie, "The Erotic Adventures of the G-Man", was the first installment of a series which was hugely successful throughout Europe. In this series, Axel displayed his fondness for what later became his signature fetish: Female Ejaculation.

After several other movies that were well received and often critically acclaimed in Europe, Axel continued producing his own titles and selling the rights to various companies, before signing an exclusive directing deal with Elegant Angel in June of 2002. While his new position will not allow him to shoot as much as before, he will continue to direct the new hit series "The Squirting Adventures of Dr. G". Jill Kelly Productions announced January 24th, 2003, that contract performers, Star E. Knight and Shyla Stylez, have both separately suspended their working relationship with the company; Knight has not been reachable for the past two months, while Stylez did not show up for her scheduled shoots on Tuesday or Thursday of this week.

Both Star E. Knight and Shyla Stylez are still under contract to Jill Kelly Productions and the company intends to hold the two stars to the full-terms of their contracts, which includes exclusivity over the next five-plus years. Any bookings with Knight or Stylez for still photography, film and video shoots, dancing - feature or otherwise, or Internet appearances, must first be approved through Jill Kelly Productions.

Shyla Stylez was married to JKP company chairman/CEO, Bob Friedland, in October of 2002. As of last week, the two have separated and Friedland is in the process filing an annulment of the marriage on the basis of fraud. Friedland has no comment and is not taking interview requests regarding the matter at this time, though the filing is public record.

LOS ANGELES -- Adult entertainment icon, Brittany Andrews  announced at The 2003 AVN Expo that her video production company, BritCo Pictures, would henceforth be distributing all of their own product. This includes three new series that Andrews has personally nurtured to fruition: "My Private Desires," "Strap-On Fantasies," and "ATV Adult Television."

"Well, you know what they say! If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself," says Andrews, who has been running BritCo on her own for the past 6 years. "I'm an independent owner, as well. No husbands, boyfriends, or managers run my business. Mike South.com reports that WWE wrestler Shawn Michaels, a devout Christian, is suing adult star Sean Michaels over the use of the name.

"Look for this to grow into a media event, it has all the trappings of good tabloid TV," South writes on his website. "A Black guy and a white guy, a wrestler and a porn star, ratings gold.

"Word is that Sean (The pornstar) is going to counter sue and ask that Shawn (the wrestler) use another name.

"I'm no legal authority but my basic copyright law knowledge tells me that whoever had the first commercial use owns the trademark, registered or not..

"I believe that they both actually started using the name around the same time....the mid 1980s but my gut tells me that Sean the pornstar beat Shawn the wrestler to the punch by a few years.

"If my college classes from years ago on patent and trademark law were correct there is also a stipulation that if you do not attempt to protect your trademark it can fall into public domain, so waiting 15 years or more to try and strip Sean of his name prolly won't sit well in the judges eyes.

"My prediction both guys will still use the name and Sean will keep his website.

"Sadly it is gonna cost Sean to defend this attack. If there is justice Shawn should have to pay all attorneys fees and court costs if he looses...Indeed I expect he is trying to bully Sean into giving up the name by out spending him.

"I have Blacks and Blondes #20 from Western Visuals released in 1985 as Seans earliest use of that name."

 

Evil Angel dominated the 2003 AVN Awards show at the Venetian HOtel in Las Vegas.

Evil Angel ran home with 19 awards, including 10 for John Stagliano's hot feature the Fashionistas. 'Nistas captured best film. Rocco Siffredi's "The Ass Collector" won three awards.

Other big winners, included Wicked Pictures, which won 11 awards, including best DVD for Euphoria and four awards for Michael Raven's Breathless.

Fan fave Lexington Steele won his third best male performer award. Aurora Snow won best female performer.
