Bobby Steele: Well, I am here with Monique. I’m gonna start with some basic questions. Where are you from?

Monique: I am from San Diego, California 

BS: How long have you been in the business?

M: 4 years 

BS: Now let me ask you a tough question or at least get a good response from you. What does it feel like to be considered a legend or to be approaching legendary status?

M: I don’t really consider myself to be a legend. I see myself as some one who does the same thing that you do I just do it on film. I feel I am just an everyday person. 

BS: Now don’t get me wrong even “celebrities” are considered everyday people but the fact is that like I got to work, but I don’t have hundreds of people asking for my autograph, BUT when you go to work…

M: OK I see what you mean, it feels good that people enjoy my work and I enjoy my work as well and for then to see me and be like Hey! I seen you etc.. 

BS: OK well is there anything that you would like to promote?

M: my website, I designed myself moniquesweb.com everybody check it out.

BS: OK so when I am ready to launch my own website I should contact you to design it?

M: (laughing) I can build website but I’m not professional. I only did my own because I was very unhappy with what people were doing with mine, so I feel if you want something done right do it yourself. I was unhappy with the way I was being marketed so I said, “Fuck it”. I read the books, designed it and it feels great. I am my own pimp (laughter) 

BS: Anything else? Any upcoming movies, etc?

M: Well I just finished My Baby Got Back 22 so check that out. I’m going to Budapest with Evil Angel. They are sending me out of the country to have sex with their men, I love it!. 

BS: Any chance of Monique going behind the camera?

M: Definitely. I have a goal in front of the camera. Once I accomplish that goal then I will go behind the camera, make my own series, my own line. Porn is gonna be in my life forever whether I am in front of the camera, behind it or at home watching it. 

BS: Well it’s seems like to Lexi and myself you want to take Porn as a whole higher? Especially Black erotica?

M: I want to be known as a great performer. Not just as a great black performer. Everybody puts such an emphasis on Black and Latino. There is such separatism and discrimination and that’s the one thing that I hate about this business. History needs to made and I would like to be the first black woman to win an AVN award, it’s never been done. 

BS: I think that's true.

M: I have done my research. 

BS: I know there have been 2 black males (Sean Michaels & Lexington Steele) but NO Black women have won awards

M: There’s a shortage of us. 

BS: No, not really I review a ton of videos, both black and white, and it’s not that there is a shortage it’s just that when a new white girl comes into the business she is there to make a name for herself and stay. While I suffer through video after video of new Black girls that you will only see once or twice.

M: It’s hard because I have to hustle. I call companies and they are like “Oh we aren’t shooting our Black line this week” etc. I don’t like that. Black, White, Asian, Latino we are all after the same color Green and we women are all the same color on the inside Pink (laughter) 

BS: Now that I have this opportunity there is one thing I always wanted to ask you. Everyone that has seen your performance knows that they are both very passionate and extreme. Is that you?

M: That’s all me. There are a few guys out there that fuck me and bring out my best, like we were at home. Like Tom Byron can and has made me cum so hard, that I was crying. That’s real. 

BS: Well this is a big thing for me to sit with you and chat. I have seen a ton of your work and I appreciate what you do.
